美國宗教，指的是現代美利堅合眾國版圖之內所有的宗教的總稱，宗教是美国文化中非常显著的一部份，無論是美洲原住民的泛靈信仰、來自的欧洲基督信仰、還是全球各地的多神論及無神論都能在美國擁有一定的信徒，與歐洲年年衰落的宗教人口相反，美国的新教一直是該國主流信仰。
從歷史上看，美國始終以“宗教自由”著稱，即使新教的人數眾多，但美國最遲從20世紀開始就不再強迫其國民信仰新教，並以宗教上的多元性為傲。於前殖民時期，美洲大地上就充滿著薩滿教、精靈教等各種本土信仰；在殖民時期，西歐的聖公宗、清教、天主教，新教的福音派、信義宗、加爾文派，俄羅斯阿拉斯加殖民地的東正教，以及猶太教的各類信徒就把自己的宗教原封不動的從歐洲搬運至美國。
根据2014年美國中央情報局的调查，美國人口中新教佔46.5%、天主教佔20.8%、犹太教佔1.9%、摩門教佔1.6%、其他基督教教派佔0.9%、伊斯蘭教佔0.9%、耶和華見證人佔0.8%、佛教佔0.7%、印度教佔0.7%、其他宗教佔1.8%、無信仰者佔22.8%、拒答者佔0.6%[2]。
根据2014年盖洛普公司的调查，美國人口中新教（含其他基督教教派）佔50%、天主教佔24%、犹太教佔2%、摩門教佔2%、伊斯蘭教佔1%、其他宗教佔3%、無信仰者（含無神論或不可知論）佔16%、拒答者佔3%[3]。

2004年一项盖洛普民调显示，大约41%的美国人都至少每星期参加一次宗教活动（这个比例高于许多的已开发国家几倍，例如法国人5％、英国人7％、以色列人25％）。不过全国分布的情况很不相同。比如在南方和中西部被称为圣经地带的地区，人们参加宗教活动要多一些（南部州份50%至60%的人每週都會到教堂參加禮拜），在东北和西岸发达地区要少一些，但這些地區仍有約20%至30%的人每週會參加禮拜。
在美南，浸信会是最大的教派，其后是卫理会；而在东北地区和中西部一大片地区中，天主教会占主导地位，因为当地的人口很多都是欧洲天主教地区（如德国、爱尔兰、意大利和波兰）移民的后裔，或者是北美其他地方（如魁北克和波多黎各）移民的后裔。美国其他的大部分地区的基督徒人口则都是多种教派混合在一起。尽管大多数美国人信奉基督教，但因为新教徒往往属于各个不同的教派，因此天主教会拥有最多的成员，是美國最大的基督教教會。
不過，與其他歐美國家一樣，总的来说，美国基督徒過去十多年来出现锐减的趋势。1992年的调查83%声称信仰基督教，而2006年发现基督教信仰的人降落到63%。

美国憲法保障宗教自由的权利，美國聯邦政府实行政教分离制度，不支持也不反对任何一种宗教。但宗教在美国政治中相当活跃。大多数美国总统都与基督教有某种联系，初期有几个总统是自然神论者，亦有參加新教的教會禮拜。多數總統都是新教信徒，天主教徒目前只有約翰·甘迺迪和乔·拜登两位总统（参见美国总统列表）。
